Setting up your course in Canvas
The Canvas learning management system was purchased by Tech for campus-wide use and is administered by the Academic Center for Technology (ACT). It is used by the NMT Distance Education Program to deliver course content. While ACT uses Canvas to link to live and/or recorded lectures, any additional content on Canvas is provided by the instructor.
Need help with Canvas? Report a problem online or click on the Get help from ACT tab at the bottom of every Canvas page. The Canvas LMS administrator at Tech is Curtis Warren.
Every semester, each course being offered has a course "shell" created, an empty course site that is already populated with students for your course. However, students cannot see that the shell exists until the instructor chooses to publish the course. Whether to use Canvas or not is up to the instructor, although students appreciate being able to find all of their syllabi, assignments, grades and more for all of their courses in one place.
